Florian Herrault (Research Engineer)

Biographical Sketch

Florian Herrault received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics and materials science from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA), Toulouse, France, in 2003, and 2005, respectively. He worked on his Ph.D. research at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA, and received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from INSA in 2009. His dissertation was focused on microfabricated air-turbine, and heat-engine-driven permanent-magnet generators. He currently works as a research engineer in the MSMA group.
His current research interests include piezoelectric and electromagnetic actuators, small-scale power generation systems, 3-D MEMS fabrication, and MEMS-enabled thermal management.
